The Five Gift Rule
Christmas is just around the corner. Whether you're shopping for a friend, family member, or significant other, it can be hard to know exactly what they want. And even if you do know what they want, it can be hard to find that perfect gift.. Of course, you want them to love your gift—but how do you make sure they'll be happy with it?
The good news? There's actually a way to make your shopping experience easier—and it doesn't involve scouring Amazon or scrolling through endless Facebook ads. It's called the Five Gift Rule!
Here's how The 5 Gift Rule works:
1) Something they want
Because who doesn't love getting something they actually asked for? This one is pretty straightforward: if someone has been hinting around about an item or service they want or need.
2) Something they need
Because sometimes we forget to ask for things that are important to us. There are so many needs in the world. People need to eat and drink, and also need love, and friendship. When you give someone something they need, you're helping them meet their most basic needs and make it through another day with a little more peace of mind—and that's truly priceless!
3) Something to wear
Because we all need more clothes! But how do you make sure your gift doesn't end up in the back of the closet?
The answer is simple: keep it simple!
4) Something to read
Because there are some books out there that are just too good not to share with others! A journal for the New Year is a popular idea too. I love writing in our grateful journal...it's easy and helps me stay aligned.
5) Something you think they might want but don't really know they want it, now here’s where the fun is!
I wish we could box up time. “Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.
It is not enough to just say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them. Words alone are worthless. "My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action." Relationships take time and effort, and the best way to spell love is "T-I-M-E.”
