Take A Deep Breath Already

Take a Deep Breath…Literally.

It might sound too simple and you may even feel like you are far too busy and have way too much to do to take 5 minutes to sit and breathe, but it’s an easy and simple way to refocus your brain and lower your stress level so you can focus and get back to work.

Try this for 3-5 minutes: sit up in your chair with your feet flat on the floor and hands resting on your knees. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply, concentrating on your lungs as they expand fully in your chest.  Watch how all those thoughts try to make their way into your brain, but let them go and try to concentrate only on your breathing.

While shallow breathing causes stress, deep breathing oxygenates your blood and clears your mind.
