Self-Care

Everyone needs to take time to chill.  In our house, we call it “Lazy Day Pajama Day”.  Sometimes it’s just a few minutes daily to keep yourself feeling primed.

But, self-care isn’t as easy as it seems, for some college students it can be especially challenging because academics, work, and extracurriculars are prioritized.

Daily exercise is the key to good health.  Find an activity you enjoy and do it a few times a week.  Exercise is the BEST stress buster on the market.

Clean eating is another key to taking care of yourself.  Most colleges have plenty of healthy options.  (Look for more posts on creative eating on a budget…)

Self care is not selfish.  You will feel better and be able to give to other.  You can achieve huge goals when you take care of numero uno.

Here are some ideas.  

  • Meditate
  • Try a restorative yoga practice.
  • Gratitude journal several times throughout the month to remind yourself of what you’re grateful for.
  • Go outside, nature is healing.
  • Get enough sleep
  • Drink lots of water.
